Richard Park played in the inaugural Paul
Bunyan International Hockey Tournament in 1988 for the Los Angeles
Junior Kings. His performance set the standard of excellence for
the tournament as he scored a then record 4 goals in one game, set a
record with 8 assists in a tournament, and led the Junior Kings to a
championship. Park was selected in the second round #50 overall by
the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1994 NHL Entry draft. He was
successful with the Belleville Bulls of the Onario Hockey League before
working his way into the NHL. Park finally found a home in
Minnesota where he scored key goals in the Wild's 2003 run to the
Western Conference Finals. Park played for Team USA in the 1994 &
1995 IIHF World Junior Championships and in the 2002, 2004, & 2005 IIHF World
Championships.
