Stanislav Chistov

Stanislav Chistov was member of the 1994 Runner-Up Magnitogorsk team from Russia. Chistov was drafted in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft in the first round #5 overall by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. He played in the elite Russian Hockey League for Omsk Avangard before playing for Anaheim in 2002-03 season. The Russian Red Army team laid claim to Chistov, but he defected to Anaheim and a great deal of international argument followed. One of the top rookies that season, Chistov helped the Mighty Ducks win the Campbell Cup and the Western Conference and was one win short of winning the Stanley Cup as the Mighty Ducks were defeated by New Jersey in 2003. Chistov was also member of Team Russia in the 2001 World Junior Championship, and 2001 & 2002 World Championships.
