2009 Schedule of Events
Thursday, December 31
Coaches/Managers Party, Holiday Inn Express. Team Coaches, Managers, and spouses are invited to the Holiday Inn Express Thursday night for complimentary food and beverages. There will be a meeting and registration with a Q & A session following. This event is from 7:00pm to 10:00pm and the meeting and registration is at 8:00pm.
Friday, January 1
9:30 am - Teams report for Opening Ceremonies, Bemidji State University John Glas Fieldhouse. All teams must report with skates and jerseys, and will be given instructions as to procedures upon arrival. Teams are asked to report by 9:30 AM and the Opening Ceremonies begin at 10 am.
10:00 am - Opening Ceremonies. The Opening Ceremonies include a laser light show, bagpiper, Parade of Teams, National Anthems, a welcome by Bemidji dignitaries and guest speaker.
Root Beer Float Social. Immediately following the Opening Ceremonies will be the Root Beer Float Social in the John Glas Fieldhouse Commons. Take time to get to know some new people, enjoy a free Root Beer Float, and look at the Bemidji State University Hockey Trophy Case, home to 13 National Championships. All teams and fans are encouraged to attend ! Games will be played from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.
Saturday, January 2
8:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Spaghetti Dinner, Bemidji Community Arena. There will be a small charge for the Spaghetti Dinner this year. Please bring a hockey size appetite. Players and Coaches eat free of charge. Also, the concession stand will have an assortment of other dinner options available. Come eat and then join the excitement of the Paul Bunyan Challenge! The Spaghetti Dinner is from 12:00pm to 2:15pm. Paul Bunyan Skills Challenge sponsored by Powerade, Bemidji Community Arena. The Paul Bunyan Skills Challenge sponsored by Powerade consists of three parts: a shootout and goalie competition that run simultaneously, and a fastest skater competition. Individual prizes will be awarded to the first and second place winners of each challenge. In addition, the first place winners will receive a treat for their entire team! Come support the players representing your team ! This event is from 2:15pm to 3:30pm. 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
